What We Offer

Full service, from first dent to final delivery

Hail damage is stressful enough. AHDS takes the whole job off your plate — the assessment, the claim, the logistics, and the repair — and hands your vehicle back looking like the storm never happened.

Full-Service Claims Handling

In Texas, your insurance company can't raise your premiums because you filed a hail claim. We work directly with your carrier and handle every detail of the claim. Once it's approved, we take it from there — we pick up your dented vehicle and drop the restored one back at the location of your choosing.

$0 Out of Pocket

We waive your deductible so a covered hail repair costs you nothing out of pocket. *We cover up to $1,000 of your deductible.

Pickup & Rental Car Drop-Off

We work with rental companies like Enterprise Rent-A-Car to keep you moving during your repair. We pick up your dented vehicle, leave the rental with you, then return the repaired car when we're finished. **If your policy has no rental coverage, we cover the rental for you. This does not apply on deductibles over $1,000, since we are already covering $1,000 of your deductible.

Lifetime Warranty

We stand behind our work for as long as you own the vehicle. If a repaired dent ever shows back up, bring it to us and we'll make it right — that's the guarantee behind the best repair quality in Texas.

20 Minutes to Get Started

That's all the time we need from you. Send us your information, we'll inspect the damage, open the claim, and take over the back-and-forth with your carrier from there.

Factory Finish, Preserved

Because PDR never touches your paint, there's no color mismatch, no body filler, and no refinish work sitting on your vehicle's history. Your factory paint — and your resale value — stay intact.

What Is PDR?

Paintless dent repair, explained

Paintless dent repair is the least invasive and most cost-effective way to bring a hail-damaged panel back to factory condition. Instead of sanding, filling, and repainting, our technicians reach the back of the panel and slowly work the metal out to where it started.

Sheet metal has memory. With the right leverage, the right tool, and a lot of patience, that memory can be coaxed back — dent by dent — until the reflection running across the panel is dead straight again. Nothing is added to your car, and nothing original is taken away.

  • Your original factory paint is never disturbed
  • No body filler and no blending or color matching
  • The insurance industry's preferred method for hail damage
  • Typically far faster than conventional body work

Inside the repair

  1. 01

    Access the panel

Interior trim, headliners, or tail lights come off as needed so the technician can reach the back side of every damaged panel.

  2. 02

    Light the surface

A specialized LED board or reflection line is cast across the paint. Hail dents hide in daylight — under that line, every one of them shows its depth and shape.

  3. 03

    Select the tooling

Rods, hooks, whale tails, and glue tabs. Each dent gets the tool that matches its location, depth, and how much room there is behind the panel.

  4. 04

    Work the metal

Steady, controlled pressure from behind pushes the low spot back up. It happens in many small passes, never one big push.

  5. 05

    Read and refine

The technician reads the reflection constantly, then uses tap-downs and blending hammers to knock down high spots until the panel reads perfectly flat.

  6. 06

    Reassemble and detail

Everything that came off goes back on, the vehicle is cleaned up, and it gets a final inspection before it heads back to you.

Insurance & Claims

What every Texas driver should know

The claims process trips people up more than the repair ever does. Here's the short version, straight.

A hail claim will not raise your rates

Auto claims fall into two buckets: collision and comprehensive. Hail is comprehensive — an act of God, outside your control. In Texas, carriers cannot raise your premium because you filed one. Note that carriers often adjust rates across entire affected ZIP codes after a major storm, which happens whether or not you repair your vehicle.

You choose the shop — not your insurer

By law, where your vehicle gets repaired is your decision alone. If a carrier steers you toward a "preferred" shop, understand that those shops are under pricing agreements with the insurer and are contractually required to collect your deductible from you.

Cheapest repair isn't always the best repair

Your carrier's obligation is to return the vehicle to pre-loss condition — how it was the moment before the storm. Nothing beyond that. So when replacing and repainting a hood costs less than working it with PDR, that's what the estimate says, even on a panel that was perfectly repairable.

That's the path of least resistance, and it's the cheaper one for them. It also means a panel that no longer wears its factory paint. What gets done to your vehicle is still your call — and we'll tell you where your estimate and the right repair part ways.

Leaving damage unrepaired has a cost

Carriers can place an "unrepaired damage" restriction on your policy, and future claims on those panels can be denied until the damage is fixed. A second storm — or a collision on top of existing hail — can also push a repairable vehicle into total-loss territory.

There's no hard deadline, but don't wait

Most insurance checks are good for about 180 days, and comprehensive claims are generally worded as needing to be filed "within a reasonable time." Estimates are written against current labor and parts rates, though, and those move.

Your deductible is on us

We waive your deductible up to $1,000 so a covered hail repair costs you $0 out of pocket. If your deductible runs higher than that, tell us on the form below and we'll walk you through your options before anything is committed.

Not sure whether to file? Tell us what you're dealing with and we'll give you a straight answer.

What our customers say

Every review below is a real one, left on Google by a real customer. We haven't edited them — a few are shortened where Google truncates them.

The same two names keep coming up

Read through these and you'll notice something: customers name us personally. Not "the shop" — Matt and Braden. That's what hands-on actually looks like from the customer's side of it.

The owners stay involved at every step, so you're not doing this alone. You shouldn't have to wonder whether the right calls are being made on your vehicle, or whether it's really going back to the way it was before the storm. That part is ours to worry about, not yours.

You'll also see the same three things over and over: the insurance company got handled, the car came back fast, and nobody paid a deductible.

These guys are great. They are detail oriented and very persistent in pushing the process with your insurance company. They really care about your vehicle and they will be there every step of the way throughout the whole process. My BMW looked like it came fresh off the factory assembly line again. Free of all hail damage.

Auto body shop told me they would have my car 3–5 weeks. AHDS had my car returned to me in 3 days! Waved my deductible & provided a rental car. Quality of work was outstanding as was their customer service.

I give Braden and AHDS six out of five stars as my experience and outcome far exceeded my expectations. There was nothing unique about my hail damage, but the service and attention was truly extraordinary.

They make it easy for you. They took pictures of the damage and sent it to my insurance. Braden worked around my schedule and had Luke pick up my Mazda CX-9 from my home. They fixed it and he had it back to me in less then 24 hours.

My car got hail damage and lots of it!!! 😬 I took it to Braden. He worked with the insurance adjuster to get the right amount for the repairs. My car looks good as new, and Braden explained everything about the process from start to finish.

I'd like to thank Matt and Braden for the awesome job they did on my vehicle. They even fixed some door dings I hate on my car for a reasonable price (almost nothing). Can't be more happy to get my car back with cero issues.

Braden was excellent. I didn't get a chance to get anything fixed but I like the fact that he kept it straight forward with me instead of wasting my time.

The insurance agency tried to total my vehicle and under valued it. Auto Hail Damage Solutions (Braden and Matt) battled them and got it reversed. They then repaired my car to make it look brand new.

Braden and Matt offer top-notch customer service and assists us with everything right from the inspection, claim and other processes. Thanks for making my Kia Sportage look brand new again. They offered to pick up/drop the car and handed it over in just less than two days. Commitment to perfection and attention to detail, not even a minute dent was left behind. Quick, professional, and excellent results. Highly recommended!

This place is awesome, they repaired my rental car in less than 5 hours due to an urgency, for a Tesla dent. They repaired dent and painted it back as normal with a very good price when compared to others and getting it done on Saturday itself was awesome by spending extra hours. I highly recommend this place.

Why PDR wins

Original paint. Original panels. Original value.

A body shop sands, fills, and sprays. We don't touch any of it. Nothing gets added to your vehicle and nothing factory gets taken off it — which is exactly why paintless dent repair is what insurance carriers prefer and what keeps your car's history clean.

About AHDS

The owners are hands on with every car

Auto Hail Damage Solutions LLC brings 35 years of combined experience to hail-damaged vehicles across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. North Texas sits in one of the most active hail corridors in the country, and we built this company around a simple rule: the owners put eyes and hands on every single vehicle that comes through. Not a rotating crew. Not a subcontractor. Us.

That matters because of what the two of us did before this. One side of this business came up inside the insurance industry; the other came up inside the repair side of the car business. Between them, there is very little about a hail claim we haven't already seen from the inside.

Storm-chasing outfits roll into the Metroplex after a big event, set up in a parking lot, and are gone by the next season — along with any warranty they promised. We're here year-round. When you call, you reach the people actually working on your vehicle.

Who you're actually working with

The claims side

A former insurance adjuster

One of our owners spent his career as an adjuster for State Farm and Liberty Mutual — writing the estimates, inspecting the damage, and approving the claims. He knows how carriers evaluate hail, where estimates get written short, and exactly how to move a claim through to approval.

When we say we handle your insurance company for you, it's because we've sat on their side of the desk.

The repair side

1,100 vehicles in under 30 days

Our other owner came up through the wholesale side of the business, where he worked over 1,100 vehicles in under 30 days for a prominent dealership group with multiple locations across DFW — a full inventory of cars the dealer still had to put back on the lot and sell.

That kind of throughput, at that standard, gets noticed. He's been asked to travel across the country to coordinate and manage repair operations for dealerships and other businesses that needed the job run right.

Service after the sale is the most important part of this business.

Anyone can take your car. Attention to detail and staying hands on — through the repair and long after it — is what separates us.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Still have one we didn't cover? Ask us on the estimate form below.

Will I have to pay my deductible?

No. We waive your deductible — up to $1,000 — so that a covered hail repair costs you nothing out of pocket. If your deductible is above $1,000, let us know on the estimate form and we'll go over the numbers with you up front, before you commit to anything.

Will filing a hail claim raise my insurance rates?

No. Hail damage is a comprehensive claim, not a collision claim — it's classified as an act of God, meaning the event was outside your control. In Texas your carrier cannot raise your premium because you filed one.

What carriers do sometimes do is raise rates across whole ZIP codes after a significant storm. That happens whether or not you repair your vehicle, so declining to fix it doesn't protect you from it.

Do I have to use the shop my insurance company recommends?

No. By law, where you have your vehicle repaired is entirely your decision. Insurers frequently steer customers toward "preferred" shops, which are locked into pricing agreements with the carrier and are contractually obligated to collect your deductible from you. Choosing your own shop is your right.

What exactly is paintless dent repair?

PDR is a repair method that removes dents by working the metal from behind the panel rather than filling and repainting the front of it. Technicians use specialized rods, hooks, and glue tabs, reading the damage under a reflected light line, and gradually massage the panel back to its original shape.

Because nothing is sanded, filled, or sprayed, your factory paint stays exactly as it came from the manufacturer.

My estimate says panels should be replaced. Do they have to be?

No. When PDR on a panel would cost more than replacing it, the insurance company writes the estimate for replacement because that's the cheaper path for them — most commonly on roofs, hoods, and decklids. The work performed on your vehicle is still your choice, and we're happy to explain the trade-offs for your specific vehicle.

What does “pre-loss condition” mean, and why does it matter?

It's the standard your insurance company is held to: put the vehicle back the way it was immediately before the loss. Not better, not newer — the same.

That's fair on its face, and it's also why an estimate sometimes calls for replacing and repainting a panel that could have been repaired. Carriers work to their bottom line and take the least expensive route that satisfies the obligation. If replacing a hood costs less than performing PDR on it, the carrier has met its duty and has no reason to pay for the better repair.

The catch is that “pre-loss condition” on an estimate and the way your car actually was aren't always the same thing. A replaced, repainted hood is no longer wearing the paint it left the factory with. Paintless dent repair keeps it. We'll show you exactly how your estimate is written and what your options are before anything gets committed to.

How long does the repair take?

It depends entirely on how many dents are on the vehicle and which panels they're on. Light damage can turn around in a couple of days; a heavily hit vehicle with dozens of dents per panel takes longer. We'll give you a realistic timeline once we've assessed the damage — and you'll have a rental car the whole time either way.

Do I get a free rental car?

If your policy includes rental coverage, we coordinate the rental with your carrier and deliver it to you when we pick up your vehicle. If your policy has no rental coverage, we cover the rental ourselves.

The complimentary rental does not apply on deductibles over $1,000, since we are already covering $1,000 of your deductible on those claims.

What happens if I just don't repair the hail damage?

Your carrier can place an unrepaired damage restriction on the policy, and future claims involving those panels can be denied until the damage is repaired. Beyond that, unrepaired hail damage stacks: a second storm can push dents past what PDR can fix, forcing conventional body work and repainting, which does show up on your vehicle's history and does reduce its value. If you're in an accident before the hail is fixed, the combined damage can also total an otherwise repairable vehicle.

How long do I have to get my vehicle fixed?

In most cases insurance checks are valid for about 180 days. Comprehensive claims are typically worded as needing to be filed "within a reasonable time," which leaves room for interpretation. Practically speaking: estimates are written against current labor and parts rates, and waiting increases your exposure to unrepaired-damage complications, so sooner is better.

I already filed my claim. Can you still take it?

Yes, absolutely. Tell us on the estimate form that your initial claim is complete and include your carrier. We'll pick up from wherever you are in the process and handle the rest of it with your adjuster.

Does PDR work on aluminum panels and EVs?

Yes, though aluminum behaves differently than steel — it's less forgiving and holds less memory, so it takes more time and a lighter touch. Modern vehicles with aluminum hoods and decklids, and EVs with large aluminum panels, are routine work for us. We'll flag any panel where PDR isn't the right call rather than guessing at it.

Is AHDS local?

Yes. Auto Hail Damage Solutions LLC is a Texas LLC operating in the DFW Metroplex, with 35 years of combined experience behind it. We're not a storm-chasing operation that shows up after a big hail event and leaves before the warranty matters — we're here year-round.
